We could not verify the claim that a tarot spread changed Beyoncé’s career. The earlier version of this article described the Fool, Death and the Chariot as cards in a private session, but did not provide a traceable record of that session. Those details should not be presented as biography.

What the cited material actually establishes

One source previously used was Grace Gavilanes’s 2017 first-person account in PEOPLE. It describes the reporter’s own session with Angie Banicki. It does not document the alleged Beyoncé session.

A general story about tarot’s popularity, or an interpretation of symbols in an artist’s work, cannot supply the missing evidence. Neither can a tarot video about a celebrity establish that the celebrity requested a reading or acted on it.

A documented account of creative intention

In the July 2022 Renaissance release issued by Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé describes making space for exploration, freedom and escape during the pandemic. That is an attributable statement about this particular album’s creation. It does not substantiate the private tarot narrative or explain every decision across her career.

Primary material still needs to be read within its limits. An artist’s account of making one album should not be stretched into a claim about an unrelated event, private relationship or lifelong spiritual practice.
